Why we built it

Every sumo competition has one universal truth. The robots are heavy the motors scream and everything wants to start early. Someone needs to keep the peace. That someone is this board. It sits there quietly telling enormous machines when they are allowed to move and nobody questions its authority.

The Start Stop Module V2 is rebuilt on the Attiny 816 which fixes timing jitter improves brownout recovery and gives the firmware room to grow. The pinout stays the same so every team and referee gets to relax. Plug in V and G. Wire S and K. Enjoy instant control.

We tested this thing in real matches where robots slam into borders flip over and scream for mercy. None of that bothered it. It stayed calm which is more than we can say for some of the referees.

The module protects fairness. It enforces rules. It prevents accidental chaos. It keeps your expensive robot from launching early and collecting a penalty. It is basically a miniature insurance policy that never files paperwork.

You buy one because you want your match to start clean. You buy a dozen because your team expands and they all want the same thing. Peace of mind and a tiny authoritative creature living inside their robot chassis.

Orbital spin test

Tiny module. Maximum ego.

The Start Stop Module V2 may be small but it has personality. It survives resets brownouts competitor meltdowns and emotional feedback from stressed builders. Letting it float and spin for a moment is the closest thing it gets to therapy.

What you see here is exactly what ships. Clean soldermask crisp text gold pads and no filters. Just the same tiny tyrant that tells three kilogram robots when they are allowed to move.
