Student Opportunities

Build space-grade hardware while you're still a student

We started as students in competition pits, out-engineering bigger budgets on grit and caffeine. Now we bring students into the real work: rovers, CanSats, edge-AI accelerators, and hardware that has to survive the field. No coffee runs. You build it, you break it, you learn faster than any lecture.

Ways in

Four ways to build with us

Whatever stage you're at, there's a way in. Pick the one that fits, or tell us you want all of them.

Compete

Competition teams

Rovers, CanSats, and combat robots. Join a live team building for the European Rover Challenge, the CanSat and Rocketry championships, BattleLab, or RobotChallenge. You own a real subsystem, not a slideshow.

Build

Hands-on internships

Sit at the bench with us. Take a subsystem from schematic to PCB to bring-up, solder your own boards, and watch them power on for the first time. The boring paperwork is part of the deal too, and that is engineering.

Research

Thesis & research collaborations

Edge AI, autonomy, comms, and space data. We turn bench experiments into published research, the way Coral and the Great Coral Reef did. Bring your thesis and co-author the next one with us.

Sprint

Hackathon squads

The 24-hour sprints and hackathons that forged our habits, like the ESA Datalabs Ariel challenge we placed 2nd in. Build under pressure with people who like it there. Some of them turned into whole projects, and one became a company.

Who we're looking for

Engineers, and the self-taught who never waited for permission

Electronics, mechanical, CS, physics, or none of the above yet. If you build things and can't stop, we want to talk. Here's what actually matters.

Curiosity over credentials

A perfect transcript is nice. Wanting to know why the board caught fire is better. We care what you build, not what grade you got for describing it.

Wrong, fast

We iterate on real parts, not renders. The people who thrive here ship a rough first version on Tuesday and a good one by Friday.

Finish what you start

Subsystems are only useful when they actually work. We trust you with something real and expect it to cross the finish line. We help you get there.

How it works

From "hi" to your first subsystem

01

Say hi

Tell us what you want to build and where you are, whether that is a degree, self-taught, first-year, or final-year. All of it is fine.

02

Trade ideas

A quick, no-pressure chat about where you'd fit and what you're curious about. We'll be honest about what's open.

03

Trial run

A small, real task, not a whiteboard quiz. Enough to see how you think and for you to see how we work.

04

Build with us

Own a subsystem on a live project: competitions, research, or custom hardware, with real deadlines and the real thing in your hands.

Ready to build?

Tell us what you want to build

Send us a message with what you're studying, what you've made, and what you'd love to get your hands on. There's no perfect CV. A link to something you built beats a paragraph about it.
