Hardware Drop

Coral USB Accelerator

Google made one. We made ours feral.

Still an Edge TPU at heart, but everything around it is Shobolinsky tuned. Thermals, power discipline, routing, and a small rat on the PCB watching your model panic under inferencing load.

Heatsink optional. Recommended if your inference is spicy.

Specs and delivery

Everything required to deploy Edge TPU inference in the field.

  • Google Edge TPU delivering 4 TOPS of local inference.
  • USB 3 connection with USB 2 fallback.
  • Shobolinsky tuned power stage for noisy rover rails.
  • Thermal layout optimized for airflow not aesthetics.
  • Compact footprint ideal for rovers telescopes and desks.
  • Fully reefable. Parallel inference support as per our research.
  • Space qualified variant in development.
  • Ships with anti static sleeve and thermal pad.
  • Heatsink recommended for sustained inferencing workloads.

Edge first everywhere

Coral USB built for resilience and Reef scale intelligence.

Better than the official one

Yes Google makes one. Ours behaves better under load and has a rat printed on it. Clear win.

Reef compatible

Chain multiple accelerators and parallelize inference workloads exactly like in our research.

Thermals that invite airflow

Flat mounting surface. Included thermal pad. Add a heatsink when you really start bullying the TPU.

Power that behaves

Tuned regulation for flaky laptop ports and chaotic rover batteries.

Space variant coming

Radiation tolerant prototype in testing. Same personality. More shielding.

Heatsink recommended

If you plan to run segmentation or heavy inference, give the TPU a metal hat.

Why we built it

Coral USB is where our Reef experiments got teeth. One TPU was cute. Five became a distributed cluster that survived thermal swings better than some of our interns.

The official Coral USB works but we needed something built for field operations. Cleaner power rails. Better thermals. A routing layout that does not scream at you when enclosed.

If you read our Reef research you already know the magic trick. Multiple accelerators splitting workloads validating results and refusing to die when one node drops. A swarm, but USB powered and surprisingly aggressive.

We built our version for real missions. Not for marketing slides. The rat on the board watches over you. Sometimes it judges your models.

A space tolerant version is in progress. More shielding. Less noise. Same rat slightly angrier.

Turntable check

Coral USB in motion

A compact accelerator made for real missions not slide decks. Shot under studio lights so you can inspect every trace and connector.

Matte soldermask. Clean copper. A TPU ready to do unreasonable amounts of work. No filters.

Turntable footage direct from the render rig. Identical to production units.
