Urban air quality mesh

Live telemetry plus traffic and weather context. The goal is not pretty charts. It is the causal story. When congestion spikes gases spike. When wind stalls pollution stays.

LoRa mesh telemetry Traffic context Weather dispersion Correlation notes

What this demo tests

  • Traffic hotspots correlate with NO2 and CO spikes.
  • Low wind increases accumulation even at similar traffic levels.
  • Time windows show when exposure risk climbs.
  • Any calendar date can be replayed to compare weekday, weekend, and seasonal patterns.
  • Deployment simulation projects nodes onto every major intersection and estimates rerouting impact.

The dashboard still works if real nodes go silent.

Intent

Show how congestion and dispersion shape urban pollution in near real time.

Sources

Mesh sensors, traffic context, and weather snapshots. The UI uses local API routes so it can run before a backend exists.

Outputs

Live KPIs, grid heatmap, node health table, and short correlation notes.

How to use this demo

1. Pick a node

Every pin on the map is a live sensor. Tap one to open its readings, charts, and health in the Node explorer tab.

2. Replay any day

Pick a date below the map and hit "Play 24 hours" to re-simulate that day's traffic, wind, and pollution. The heatmap follows the clock: heavier traffic, hotter colors.

3. Simulate the build-out

"Simulate city-wide deployment" places a node at every major intersection and starts the playback on its own. Violet lines show traffic being pulled off the worst corridors.

Cluj Napoca urban air quality mesh

Live fusion of LoRa sensor telemetry and city scale weather context.

Intent: show congestion and pollution impact for the thesis defense.

Pick any date and the mesh re-simulates that day: weekends run lighter, winter traps pollution, summer breathes. The same date always replays the same day.

Deployment simulation

What if a node sat at nearly every major intersection in Cluj? Gas readings become traffic probes, and the mesh can suggest reroutes around the heaviest corridors. Starting the simulation also starts the 24 hour playback so you can watch a full day unfold.
